Batman vs. Boba Fett
Who Would Win This Ultimate Battle?

Incomplete -- to be completed soon!

OK. I admit. It seems like an odd combination. But think about it. The greatest detective and crime fighter in the world versus the best bounty hunter in the galaxy. Who would win? Both of these characters have numerous "gadgets" to help them achieve their goals, and let's face it -- they're both bad-asses.

To make this fight (and this discussion) somewhat focused, I've laid some ground rules for the fight. They are:

  • The battleground for the battle is Gotham City. Ignoring the "long time ago" and figuring Boba Fett got here somehow, I don't see any way of Batman traveling to a "galaxy far, far away."
  • The fight would be to the death. I know this might offend some of the more hardcore fans of the Dark Knight, but it's necessary that the fight be to the finish if we're to find out who would really win. So therefore, Boba Fett has been sent to eliminate (not capture) the Dark Knight, and in turn, Batman decides that the threat that Boba Fett imposes on Gotham City and the world is too great to let him live.

These rules set, what about some of the clear advantages Boba Fett has over Batman? These are addressed below, and are derived from the scanned image below.

[Fett's armor image]

Using the above image as a reference for Fett's armor, here's the rundown on Fett's doohickeys and how Batman might counter them, or how they pose a threat.

  • macrobinocular viewplate -- Fett will be on Batman's turf, so all the vision enhancements in the world can't give him an advantage for navigating Gotham City.

  • infrared capabilities -- OK, this is one image enhancement that gives Fett a distinct advantage, but I'm sure that Bruce Wayne has the money and resources for his own infrared vision.

  • motion and sound sensors -- These give Fett another advantage, but again, Batman has the homefield advantage.

  • an internal comlink with Slave I -- It's already been established that Batman has comlink to the Batmobile, and he most certainly has one for the Batwing.

  • a broad-band antenna for intercepting and decoding transmissions -- Batman's not one for chit-chat, so the most Fett would probably intercept and/or decode is, "I'm closing in on the helmeted freak, Alfred."

  • an external targeting rangefinder -- Fett he can target the Dark Knight -- if he can find him.

  • lasers -- It's unclear if these are sufficient to act as weapons, or just cutting tools. In any case, more on this below.

  • a miniature flame projector -- OK, a flame thrower; Batman has flame-retardant batsuits.

  • a corded fuel line for flame projector -- Oh, wow, something for Batman to light on fire to make a Boba-bomb.

  • a mini concussion rocket -- Batman could deflect this faster than you could say, "Batarang."

  • a fibercord whip/grappling device -- Sounds suspicially like something on Batman's utility belt.

  • main rocket thrusters -- So he can hop around a little bit -- big deal.

  • directional thrusters -- Oooh, he can hop around choreographed.

  • a turbo-projected magnetic grappling hook with a 20-meter lanyard -- Oh, so he has two grappling hooks. How ingenious.

  • knee-pad rocket dart launchers, spiked boots -- I'm not sure what a rocket dart is, but the words "armored batsuit" come to mind. As for the boots, Batman has been known to wear these.

  • a concussion grenade launcher -- Well, this sounds kinda nasty, but I discuss this below.

  • a BlasTech EE-3 rifle -- The clear advantage for the bounty hunter; see below.

  • braided Wookiee scalps over the shoulders -- Well, that settles it. How can Batman defend against Wookiee scalps?

  • The armor can also seal itself from insufficient or deadly atmosphere; it has a two-hour supply of oxygen -- Well, this prevents Fett from any Bat-gases for two hours, but Batman has his own oxygen supply as well.

OK, that leaves with the main advantages for the bounty hunter. These are lasers, a concussion grenade launcher, and a BlasTech EE-3 rifle. As I mentioned before, the lasers are unspecified as weapons, but for the sake of argument, let's say that they are. Concussion grenades sound like grenades on steroids, so we'll treat these as highly volatile explosives. As for the BlasTech EE-3 rifle, this is the weapon that would most likely give the Dark Knight the most problems. It's unclear how Batman might defend himself against such a weapon, but I have a few ideas. (Couldn't you just guess that?)

OK, let's analyze this from the beginning. Boba Fett arrives at Earth and heads straight for Gotham City. We have to assume that he's compiled as much information as he can about Batman, so he'd probably assume him to be a negligable threat. The argument that Fett is paranoid arises; he therefore would probably be armed with all of his above armament.
